Geoff Ballard - Chief Technology Officer

As co-founder of Ballard Chalmers, Geoff Ballard is the company’s Chief Technology Officer with responsibilities that include setting company-wide technical direction; ensuring technical delivery quality through reusability, procedures and standards; developing new products; and the management of technical staff personal skill sets and certification.
Before Ballard Chalmers, Geoff worked for a number of companies as developer, architect, trainer, technical author and consultant. He has a track record of over 20 years in software development, 15 of which has been dedicated to Microsoft systems design and development.
Geoff has authored a number of training courses for Learning Tree International, including ‘Porting UNIX Applications to Windows’, ‘Microsoft Commerce Server’, ‘Microsoft BizTalk Server’,’ Transact-SQL Programming’, and ‘Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Administration’. These courses are still regularly held throughout the world.
Born in 1957, Geoff holds a BA (Honours) degree in mathematics and an MSc in Database Management Systems. Geoff’s hobbies include sailing, sports cars and motorcycles.
Andrew Chalmers - Managing Director
As co-founder and Managing Director of Ballard Chalmers, Andrew Chalmers manages the business and commercial side of the company - setting the business strategy, maintaining relationships and ensuring projects and consultancy work are delivered on time and to budget.
Andrew's career began in the early 1980's in sales and sales management. In the 1990's Andrew moved into project and interim management - particularly in engineering and manufacturing - with engagements in Europe, Russia and the US, culminating in a career in IT project management at Hewlett Packard Europe in 1997.
In 2000, Andrew established his own IT software project development consultancy and merged with Ballard Consulting to form Ballard Chalmers Ltd in 2005.
Outside of business, Andrew races historic cars and is active in support of human rights charities. Andrew is proudly Australian, despite his English accent!
