Ballard Chalmers project wins and newsRecent new client project starts includes BizTalk consultancy and development for specialist bank and asset manager Investec in the City of London, and we are pleased to welcome new clients for SharePoint ongoing support - the Animal Healthcare Company based in Sussex, and the Civil Aviation Authority - CAA. The Civil Aviation Authority is the UK's specialist aviation regulator that ensures that UK civil aviation standards are set and achieved and regulates airlines, airports and National Air Traffic Services economic activities across the UK.The CAA is based near Gatwick Airport, Crawley and so BC is perfectly placed as a locally based company within the Gatwick Diamond area to service the CAA and other companies in the area. Current projects for Gatwick Diamond based organisations includes ongoing SharePoint support and consultancy for Ceres Power, a world leading alternative energy company based in the UK, developing fuel cell technology for use in small scale combined heat and power products for the residential sector and in energy security applications. Also Stark Energy Information Systems, based in the Gatwick Diamond area, who continue to partner with Ballard Chalmers for technical support and resource in developing new software systems to expand their portfolio of innovative energy software products and services that give organisations a proven way of eliminating waste, cutting costs and reducing carbon emissions. Another local project we are particularly proud to be leading is the development of an updated software system for Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead. QVH provides specialist reconstructive surgery and expert therapy and rehabilitation services for people across the South of England. Working with the Trust IT team BC has developed a new online system to support the rapid and on the spot diagnosis of trauma victims injuries by specialists in remote locations. This system will further raise the already national-leading service and support levels provided by QVH NHS Trust to its patients and partners. Another recent project to go live has been a major SharePoint deployment for Lewisham London Borough Council. BC has been a key part of the project team working under the project lead Dimension Data, one of the UKs leading IT services companies. You can view the new and live SharePoint 2010 public service site for Lewisham Council at www.lewisham.gov.uk. This web site provides very high levels of online services features including full integration with the Microsoft CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) system used by the call centre for tracking all interactions with the council (i.e. fly tipping, requests for information, requests on business rates, benefits, and many more); full integration with the councils GIS (Geographical Information System) - this embeds maps into the site and supports all kinds of geographical interactions that answers questions such as "Where is my nearest dentist?", "Show location and full details on the local primary school", plus many more ground-breaking live public sector online service features delivered with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 technology.
