Azure Cloud Software as a Service - Energy & Utilities Management System - Document Management NewsBallard Chalmers has been working with our client for 24 months to design and specify an end-to-end Utilities Management System incorporating Energy Tendering and wholesale market energy procurement, bill management, consumption analysis, recommendation management, automated client billing, estate management and accounting systems integration.We are now ready to go into the software development phase and have designated Microsoft Azure as the software platform. The software will be delivered to users wholly through the Internet as a service and will support multiple end clients and energy consulting organisations. Microsoft Azure has been selected as the platform due to the native support for scalability and resilience and a cost-model that can easily be adapted to reflect the number of users of the system and a rapid increase in the user-base. The development of this system will be undertaken during Q3 2010 and Q1 2011, to go live in stages starting in Q2 '11. Stay tuned for more information on our progress on Azure systems development.
