Commerce Server 2007 deployment, development and integration for OPP.

OPP is Europe's largest provider of psychometric testing & assessment. OPP's experienced consultants work with clients in the areas of personal and leadership development, team building, selection, skills and performance assessment, and conflict resolution and offer leading personality assessment tools.

OPP already had an successful online presence with its OPPassessment product which provided full online assessment functionality. However OPPassessment did not offer support for the purchase of books, CDs and other tangible products and so OPP looked to find a technology that could be used, in conjunction with OPPassessment, to provide an online offering for its full range of products. Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 was selected.

Ballard Chalmers were appointed by OPP as its development partner and a number of services were provided that resulted in the successful development of the online shopping facility. These included:

• Providing a training course in Commerce Server development to members of the OPP development team
• Developing web control components for core parts of the commerce web pages, including basket and checkout
• Designing and building the integration hub that resides between the online Commerce Server site and the Epicor back end system used by OPP to manage the business
• Developing the integration between the Commerce Server and the Trustmarque systems payment provider
• Designing and configuring the Commerce Server production environment
